Split Ring Assembly

The split ring assembly contains the split ring, the U-shape structure, DEC motor and limit switches.
Since the split ring is directly printed, the gear can be combined with the split ring. The diameter of the split ring is reduced from 500mm to 440mm. But it is still too large for printing. So, we have to split it into four parts for printing. Filename "Split Ring - Part n.STL" should be printed. Where 'n' is 1, 2, 3 and 4. Then, combine the four parts into one piece by sand paperjoint and glue. File Joint.STL is provided for connecting split parts.

When printing, the bearing brace built on the split-ring might have issue as shown below.

This is fixed by adding a 45˚ Extruded-Cut feature on this area to overcome the overhang issue.

DEC Stepper Motor

The DEC motor is mounted on the U-shape structure.

The selected stepper motor can be found here. The stepper motor should have the smallest step angle and the max holding torque.

The DEC gear is redesigned. It has 10 teeth now. The original gear has 12 teeth. If you have 0.25mm nozzle, use it to print the gear. The "gap" between between gears will affect the precise when controlling stepper motor. 0.25mm nozzle should give more accurate result.
